Good Sunday morning from Winnipeg.
Once again, lots of good, and some not so good, rugby yesterday, although the results may not be liked by everyone, especially the bizarre finish to the game in Paris.
Virgilius, in what appears to me to be a benign mood, has provided us with another very typical and very enjoyable Sunday puzzle,
My favourite is 26a.… Continue reading

Good Sunday morning from Winnipeg. This week, Mother Nature reminded us that it is still winter (until the vernal equinox on March 20th). A major system blew through (literally) on Monday and Tuesday – starting with rain, then, as the mercury dropped, changing to freezing rain, finally changing to snow, and blowing snow, with winds gusting up to 50 mph – and we got back into the deep freeze with ‘high’ temperatures in the middle minus teens. … Continue reading

Good Sunday morning from Winnipeg where it is trying to warm up, with some success, but we did sink to minus 22C, plus some wind chill, on Thursday morning.
For those of you who might be considering purchasing a BRB; back in December, I was considering purchasing a BRB while I was in London for the Birthday Bash in January. … Continue reading

Good Sunday morning (but not from Winnipeg) from Youngstown, Ohio. After four relaxing days with friends in Niagara-on-the-Lake in Ontario, I am finally completing my move from the USA to Canada by emptying out a storage locker in Delaware, and driving a rental box van (containing the contents of said locker) back to Winnipeg – a four day journey (26 hours total driving). … Continue reading

Good Sunday morning from Winnipeg. The winter festival is underway, but unseasonably warm temperatures, 10 degrees above normal, are restricting some of the events and everything is starting to melt.
The training wheels have been taken off and thrown into the nearest snow drift (before it melts)!
Another very typical and very enjoyable Sunday puzzle from Virgilius which I was able to complete at a fast canter, but there was some head scratching to understand the parsing of some of the answers before I could write the hints.… Continue reading

Good Sunday morning from Winnipeg. Having sunk well into the deep freeze in the middle of the week just gone by with more snow, and highs around -20C (-30C with wind chill), 10C below seasonal normal (whatever that means), we are supposed to reach a balmy -2C today (8C above seasonal normal). … Continue reading

Since his first taste of blogging last November, Senf has been asking if he can do more. At the recent Birthday Bash I suggested that he might like to take over the Sunday Hints, and he rapidly agreed. In the eight years of the blog, prior to today, there have been 417 sets of Sunday Hints and I have done 401 of them, so it’s time to hand over the baton. … Continue reading
