What a delight to get another delightful posthumous puzzle from the much-missed Petitjean. Let’s hope that he’s left us several more.

Kia ora from Aotearoa and a special greeting with all our best wishes to the birthday boy.
At last we have the chance to be really positive about our summer weather. We are now getting warm sunny days with temperatures in the mid to high 20’s.… Continue reading

Welcome, friends. Tuesday has come again, and so so have I. I found the NE corner no trouble, but had to beaver away a bit, especially in the south, to get some of the rest. It didn’t help that, becoming hopelessly entangled in the long anagram, I took ages to see 22/23a, which finally came all in a rush. … Continue reading

A brilliant puzzle from Elkamere which didn’t seem overly difficult except for, well, a few difficulties experienced by each of us. We both made generally smooth progress but Dutch was somehow slowed down in NE and should have seen 8d much earlier. Meanwhile, Kitty found a few sticky spots at the end, and managed to have trouble parsing a couple of the clues.… Continue reading

Good morning from South Staffs where after some brightness yesterday the relentless gloom of this winter has returned. At one stage yesterday it looked as though I might have difficulty posting this set of hints, but – fingers crossed – it seems that BD and Cloudflare have fought off the barbarians again.… Continue reading

Saturday Prize Puzzles aren’t quite what they used to be – they certainly take a smidgeon more teasing out, although there’s always room for an ‘old friend’ – this week’s ‘pal’ being 26a. Brian asked the other day that bloggers explain double definition clues, so I’ve done what he requested, and I hope it helps, particularly as we had several this Saturday.

Morning all and welcome to a non-RayT Thursday. Nothing in this one to frighten any horses but there is plenty to entertain them. There seem to be a lot of clues requiring insertions and several are indicated in the same way which is my only criticism of an otherwise splendid puzzle.
